IamLUG - the news many of you have been waiting for
We have big news at the IamLUG camp. Each year we sit down to review exactly what we want to improve for the next event and one thing became clear this time. IamLUG needed to make a move. So here is what is taking place:IamLUG will be held May 6-7, 2013 with the TackItOn session being May 8 2013.
We are moving the date for a few reasons. Organizationally it will be easier in the spring for some of the committee. The weather will be much nicer and we can stop hearing all the whining about the possible heat. We also move away from the start of school for many of our US based attendees. Lastly, there is a giant hole in the US at that time for an event before summer with as much content as we bring to you each year.
IamLUG 2013 will still be in St Louis, MO. While we reserve the right to finish our discussion with the venue about enhancements, we will remain in St Louis, MO.
We have been asked why we hold IamLUG in St Louis more than a few times. The first answer that comes to mind is we are centrally located for everyone that comes as far west as California, north as our Canadian attendees and east as Europe. Flights are easy, usually not expensive and constant. Also, the entire committee is here so that would be silly to plan it elsewhere for now.
IamLUG will remain free for attendees
There is no other way we would have it. We keep the budget trim to give the attendee the best experience (including food we are told) and also to keep sponsor costs down to hold the event Remember if you attended in 2011 you still have full streaming access to all of the recorded session content!
The following sponsors already committed to 2013 based on the planned changes. Contact us now to have your company name added to this early sponsor listing.
- Teamstudio has already committed to being a large part of the event once again. They have been a gold sponsor since the inaugural event three years ago.
- Teamcentric is also on board and has been a silver sponsor since the inaugural year.
